Helping people move from survival to clarity.

We support practitioners and workplaces to create lasting change through trauma-informed practice. Our work helps people move from survival and overwhelm toward regulation, clarity, and a renewed sense of agency — through training, creative therapeutic approaches, and spaces designed for both safety and genuine transformation.

Why we do what we do...

This work grew from years spent alongside people navigating trauma, stress, and complex life experiences within community organisations and support services. Again and again, one truth surfaced: when professionals understand the impact of trauma on the brain and nervous system, everything about the way they work with people begins to shift.

Over time, that insight expanded beyond individual support into training, workshops, and reflective practice with teams. Today, the work focuses on helping professionals and workplaces consider not just how to work with their clients — but how to notice and tend to their own state and regulation. When staff have tools to support their own sense of safety and connection, they bring that steadiness into their client work too.

Because sustainable change doesn't happen through information alone. It happens when knowledge meets practice, and practice meets self-awareness.

Hey I'm Sonia

My Work

I support individuals, practitioners, and workplace teams to move from survival and overwhelm toward regulation, clarity, and sustainable change — through training, workshops, and therapeutic practice.

My Expertise

I'm a Trauma-informed Social Worker, Sensorimotor Art Therapist, and counsellor with a background in somatic and expressive arts therapies — grounded in years of frontline practice across community organisations and support services.

My Approach

Drawing on neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and creative therapeutic methods, I build spaces where people can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and develop skills that carry well beyond the training room.

Sonia is Our Go To Person

Sonia is our go to person when we need something bespoke and highly responsive to a specific need. Sonia’s ability to listen deeply and craft a meaningful and practical application is exceptional. She is respected and appreciated in our community.

Incredibly valuable for our team

The Moloney Consulting training has been incredibly valuable for our team at Common Ground Queensland. It has helped build staff confidence and provided practical tools that they are now using in their day-to-day work with clients experiencing complex challenges. We have seen a real positive impact in how staff engage with and support our tenants, strengthening the quality of support we are able to provide.

Chief Operations Officer, Common Ground Queensland

We consistently receive positive feedback and endorsement of Sonia's work from participants.

Sonia's adaptability and flexibility ensure that those in the room are included, heard and valued as participants in their own teaching and learning. I have also observed on several occasions her invitation to others to contribute their own expertise and experiences, especially in relation to culture and cultural practices for the benefit of the entire group. We consistently receive positive feedback and endorsement of Sonia's s work from participants. Her authenticity and warmth as a facilitator and educator, and her clear expertise make her such a pleasure to work with.
